Movie watched.

Went with the family people to see X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Uh. Let's get one thing clear here. Wolverine is my favourite. He's been my favourite since the old school bad ass-ness that had this for the opening. So, yay for movie exploring his past and whatnot, whoo. Ish.

The film was not that bad. My wonderful memory fails me in connecting the dots and seeing whether or not events lined up with the stars correctly or whatever. Can't be sure what wasn't what, but considering how much these movies love to condense crap and warp them, I wouldn't be surprised if something is outta whack. I did get a chuckle here and there, so it was entertaining.

My main issue with the movie was mostly the editing. And good god some of these shots were horrid. The soundtrack was ick, but I suppose since this is an action-y type of film, any repetitious loop of percussion, brass, and strings would be fine.

All in all, it was an okay film. So is Nightcrawler next? :P

Watchmen.

Today I saw Watchmen with the family peoples. My response was to degenerate Rorschach's character by a poor attempt of chibify.

The movie was cool. I can see why some people might have had problems with it, but all and all, it was an interesting film. Rorschach rocks. The End.

I want my copy of the comic now. Postman bring it in soon plz?

Encore.

I found out we have these movie channels that play movies 24/7. They're even separated by genre and whatnot. And that is kinda shiny considering some movies are iffy when it comes to driving to the nearest rental (10-ish miles away, lolololz. I do not count those movie boxes that have you renting a movie for a dollar a day, blah).

Just finished The Holiday. It was pretty good. Cheesy chick-flick, but tolerable. I've been meaning to watch this movie for a while though so, yay for finally seeing it.

I had written (then deleted out of shear horror) a couple of paragraphs that would have made me sound like some emo-journal that would make a chick-flick director proud.

...

EWWWWWW.

THE END.

Go, go, go! And more go!

Watched Speed Racer again today. Still love it. Blah to the haters and their complaints that they got confused with the scenes. I guess their brains are runnin' at 10 FPS. :P

*

And... Eureka was right after that. Guess who made a show? Sgt. Bates from Season 1 of Stargate Atlantis, lolz.

*

Now, I have started an effort to "research" on the candidates I will be voting for... so exciting, can't contain myself. Yeah...

...yes, that was sarcasm. We all know how much I love delving into the "cruel" and "dark" world of politics.

Just to kick things off and be silly, let's rate these candidates' websites shall we?

First up, Mr. Barrack Obama. Clean site, easy to navigate. I despise the person who created the PDF file for his "Blueprints for Change" or whatever. Thank you, Genius, for using fancy schmancy fonts instead of normal shit like Helvetica, Arial, or even Times New Roman. Epic fail on your part mister. Yay for Barrack TV. I don't have to read all his boring speeches. (And for the record, I think any and all speeches are boring to me so :P).

Now off to McCain... ... ... adhg;oaihgelghdkagdjk!! Holy shit wtf is this?! My... my eyes, they bleed! BLEEEEEDDDDD!!!! The web designer for this page fails more epically than Mr. Imagonnausefancyfontslolz. Positive thing... um, yay random pictures? Photos are fun. :D

Obama: Winz.
McCain: FAIL

So, if I were dumb and based my vote off of website design alone, Obama got my vote. XD

*

Hey look Ma! Obama makes a cameo in the manga Air Gear! lololol

The End.

Next up: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull!

I don't think I'll ever get to seeing Iron Man in theaters, haha. Oh well, there's always rentals.

R.I.P. Ollie Johnston. )

Yesterday, we watched Beauty and the Beast. Lovely movie. Could have won the Oscars, but eh. It's still awesome.

Today I went to Hollywood Video and rented some movies: Juno, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Once. While perusing through the store, I found that there's too many movies I want to see. Why can't I has more monies? And time? ;-;

*

But, anywho! Today is a lovely day. It's sunny! It's not too hot. There's a lovely breeze. And it's a Friday.

Happy Friday, guys!

Answers for all!

All righty. Well, I was considering putting hints for these or even finding another movie to quote in place of them, but, uh, dunnae. Maybe I wanna say these movies just to poke you guys into watching them? :D

5. The Fountain

a)

Death is a disease, it's like any other. And there's a cure. A cure - and I will find it.

b)

No, no. Listen, listen. He said that if they dug his father's body up, it would be gone. They planted a seed over his grave. The seed became a tree. Moses said his father became a part of that tree. He grew into the wood, into the bloom. And when a sparrow ate the tree's fruit, his father flew with the birds. He said... death was his father's road to awe. That's what he called it. The road to awe. Now, I've been trying to write the last chapter and I haven't been able to get that out of my head!

14. What Dreams May Come

a)

I forgive you.
For killing my children and my sweet husband?
For being so wonderful a guy would choose hell over heaven just to be around you.

b)

What some folks call impossible, is just stuff they haven't seen before.

*

T'was fun stuffs. Now watch those movies! Kidding, kidding. Well, you can. ;3

Memes are fun, too.

Taken from peoples. zomg. I wanted to do it, too, but forgot to do it until now. Wee.

1. Pick 15 of your favorite movies/tv shows.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie/tv shows.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie/tv shows.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search or other search functions.

. . .

Should I be afraid of this live-action adaptation of Akira? Especially when I see where the setting is and it's produced by an actor. Leonardo DiCaprio. He doesn't scream anime enthusiast, but, hey, John Stewart played Wii Sports on the Oscars so who knows.

Personally, I thought they should have waited until the Wachowski brothers were finished with Speed Racer. :P

Anywho. I have figured out some way of doing this silly 100 Themes Challenge that I was supposed to finish last year but didn't. Yeah. It's called drawing. Okay, yeah, that drawing, too, but there's also the... "poke random people to draw a piece of paper from a tin" type of drawing, y'know? xD

Yes. So. Got Kamel to do the first drawing and the first theme shall be...

OLD.

Whoo.

No clue what to do at the moment, let's see how this works out, m'yes?

Oscars = </3

This is one reason why I dislike the Oscars.

It would be amusing if, for one whole year, we could convince every film maker to make their film projects animated. So, it'll be a year of animation. No live-action, nada, zilch, zero, nil. I wonder if the people who nominate films for the Oscars (etc, etc, etc) would have a field day. I know I would.

And I learned that "ghettoize" is a word. Yay for expanding my vocabulary or something.

(Yes, I just wanted to use /fume!Sheppy icon. xD)

Movies!

I rented three movies over the weekend:

I watched Casino Royale first. It was cool. Not a huge fan of James Bond movies, though. Found the random pretty girl melts cold-hearted bastard's heart thing kinda... blah? That's the only nitpick I have for the movie. I loved the chase scene at the beginning! Who knew there were people other than Jackie Chan that could pull off those crazy monkey stunts? xD

Overall, it was a pretty neat movie.

It was Stardust that came in second. Fun movie. Yay airships? Loved the ghosts, haha. o.o

Lastly, Paprika. I picked up this movie on a random whim. The style really caught my eye. I'm glad I picked it up because this movie was the best of the three. 'course, I could be saying that out of preference toward animated films. ^^;

But, Megumi Hayashibara was in it so... WIN! XD

Watching this film made me realize that I have yet to see Millennium Actress as a whole. I saw bits of it when my 2-D animation teacher played it during a class-work-thing. Ah, I'll get around to it. Maybe there's a box set of Satoshi Kon movies? That would rock.

Pirates Who Don't Do Anything.

Today we went to see The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything. It was a fun movie, had its amusing parts, and I don't think I can look at a bag of cheesy puffs the same again. Random stuff that was, haha.

I saw the second teaser trailer to Pixar's new film Wall-E. That little robot is too adorable. The cuteness, it kills. <3

In other news, CLAMP is 3vil. Dx

Sweeney Todd

I took Kamel and Fatboy to see Sweeney Todd. It was... interesting, to say the least. Tim Burton sure took a different route in his style with the added blood and gore. He usually doesn't (as far as I remember), but I suppose it's an eventuality.

Random love: a singing Professor Snape and a singing Peter Pettigrew. fufufufu. Okay, the actors, but it was rather amusing. The songs were fun. Addicting tunes and spiffy lyrics, muwahahaha. I'm not sure what to make of Johnny Depp's singing though... hmmmz.

All in all, the film was good. I'm tempted to buy the soundtrack. X3

In which Angie...

I discovered that the new chapter for Bleach was an one-shot of... Hitsugaya! EEEE! And it's for a new movie or something, dunnae. I went squee. I looked it up and now I'm not too squee-y about the movie anymore. >.>

Oh well, the one-shot chapter was cool enough. Matsumoto and Hitsugaya are too awesome a team. They're right up there with Kusajishi and Zaraki, fufufu.

Not looking forward to work tomorrow. No surprise there, really. Blah.

In which Angie does the random, as usual.

Bleach cosplay of goodness.

Random rap thing at the drive-thru, lol. Crazy stuff. XD;

*

And I'm doing NaNo again this year -- 831/5001 = F-. XD

Tis a fanfic this time. Legend of Zelda. Present day-ish. Whoo! I can't really talk much about it since I'm not really sure how things will turn out, haha. Got what the three main characters - Link, Zelda, and Ganon (who isn't Ganon quite yet or ever) - will be like so I'm just playing off of that and adding around their stories. Fun stuff, I s'ppose.

I'm probably breaking the rules by doing a fanfic, but, eh, I'm still shooting for 50K, right? Plus, I've enough stories I'm working on for personal projects. Don't need more. XD

*

Crush's emergency brakes got dirty so they need cleaning or something. Dunnos. Haven't the clue what be up, but, eh, might as well maintain him and stuffs. Can't imagine how scary it'll be driving to the dealer on Tuesday at 17:00-ish. @.@ That area's usually crazy at that time, ugh.

The service center is pretty nice now (last time it was a bunch of construction and I sat in some random trailer thing waiting for Crush to get his oil changed, haha). WiFi? Would love to test out S.O.B. there, lol. He's too big to lug about without a case though. >.>;

*

For Thanksgiving weekend, I plan on renting a bunch of movies to watch over the four days or so...

List:

-Evan Almighty
-Constantine
-Casino Royale
-Surf's Up

...and, uh, that's all I remember saying I want to rent. Anyone else got suggestions? Hit me up, yos. Don't think I'll be going over ten, but, hey, never know. :D

In which Angie asks something random...

Should I kick this habit of reading books before seeing their film counterparts? Really. Just six minutes into The Dark is Rising and I feel the dread (the trailers gave me) rising. Like the Dark! lololololol! XD

The visuals are nice. Good editing. Definitely liked the shifty shots from behind the lockers at the beginning, but story-wise. I see disaster. Big, huge, gargantuan disaster.

I stop watching now... and eat, hahahahaha. Plus there's Top Gear and Heroes tonight! BUWAH!

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

In which Angie feels wary...

I've begun to reread Susan Cooper's book, 'The Dark is Rising', and as I finished the first chapter, I've had this wary feeling whenever I recalled the trailer of the film adaptation. I went back and watched the trailer again and found just what felt... "off".

I have a feeling 'The Dark is Rising' will be a repeat of that horrendous mockery of a film 'Eragon'. Joy. Way to go. Good job Hollywood!

Hollywood 5bil - Greatbooks nil.

But, I suppose it is too early to rant. Had to voice my worry, s'all.

Saw Torchwood today. It was... interesting... O.o;

It was followed by an ... interesting episode of Eureka.

Both had similar themes...
