[ACESS D.E.N.I.E.D] THIS WRITING JOURNAL IS FRIENDS ONLY.I don't add just anyone here. Comment my personal journal, darklitfaery, and let's see if we get along first, okay? =) " "All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible." -- T.E. Lawrence. |

Writing
My writing momentum has been seriously slowing down these last couple days, but thankfully I've had the necessary time over the weekend to fight against that. The same isn't likely to be true of school nights, so we'll see what happens this week... I've been quite stuck plotwise for a couple days and trying to scrounge my word count by adding an opening, going back and making edits, and prolonging the conversation before they go anywhere. Jchan asked if she could help unstick me. Me: I'm just not sure what to do when they get the town of the women Me: I don't know what they'll find there or anything about the characters Jchan: crossdress? Yeah. So. IT'S ALL HER FAULT, OKAY? Oh my gosh, I have to choose outfits for Oliver and Four to be cross-dressing in now XD. Galatea!fic: 8264 / 10000 words. 83% done! Total: 8424 / 25000 words. 34% done! Also, today I've been watching season one of the Sarah Jane Adventures with my mom and really enjoying it. That show is so fun! And Luke is adorable ♥. Prompts - Nov 7 & 8
Whoops, we missed a day there. >.> But that's okay! Here are your prompts for yesterday and today: 031 Acceptable losses 061 The small mistakes As a reminder, feel free to respond directly to this post if you want to--treat it as a drabble challenge (one without word limits). Okay, 532 words isn't so bad, considering I only managed, what was it...68 yesterday. Brings my total so far to 6874. Not where I expected to be at this point, but what can you do? I will break 7K before I go to bed tonight, damnit. This is ridiculous >.> EDIT: Booyah, 7K. Hmm. Not going to bed though >.> Lots of ground to make up! And tomorrow, I'll see how I'm feeling to a bit of tagging back at R/s. Current Mood: determined |

Book meme
Since everyone else is doing this, I scoured my bookshelf for some recognizable material..and caused a pretty awesome avalanche. Oops. Taken from taelow (and others): ☇ Take four books off your bookshelf. ☇ Write the first sentence ☇ Write the last sentence on page fifty ☇ Write the second sentence on page one hundred ☇ Write the next to the last sentence on page one hundred fifty ☇ Write the final sentence of the book ☇ Let your friends guess what book it is. ( Book Meme )Dad's out of town, so Mom and I are hanging out this weekend. We went shopping and go lunch out--at Panda Express (yes, that counts as eating out). My fortune made me crack up so much: Avoid unchallenging occupations - they waste your talents.Don't worry, Panda Express. I'm keeping that in mind XD Also, my Amazon order arrived! I now own two PDAs--the two with One, Steven, and Dodo. Laugh if you will. This could complicate my writing goal >.> But I'm hoping to inspire myself to continue the Dodo fic! Also, I cannot stop listening to this song. *loves it* Current Mood: cheerfulCurrent Music: Nelly Furtado ft. Juanes - Te Busqué (Full Span. Ver.) |

Addendum to the Most Romantic Movie Moments
Yesterday while I worked I was watching Terminator 3 again, and at the end there's this (the good stuff starts at 3:00): When John says, "I am," and Kate takes his hand, I just die, it makes me cry every time, the whole ending of the movie is awesome. This is probably further proof that I am a.) not normal and b.) an enormous softie, but this movie does it right. It's all running jumping (climbing trees?) blowing stuff up (the chase through the city is unintentionally hi-larious--or maybe not unintentionally), with the romance between the two leads being little more than an afterthought, and yet it works. Is it the high strings of aching sorrow and destiny fulfilled on the soundtrack? Is it having the weight of three whole movies (+ the show if you feel like retconning that in) behind this moment? I don't know, but it is just exactly the sort of thing I can't get enough of. |

All right, that's enough angst/negativity for one night. (Kitty snugglings have definitely helped.) So have a fun link and a meme! (And someone kick me to finish those other ones. Really, I will.) The link: How to Save on Christmas DecorationsAnd the book meme that's been going around: ☇ Take four books off your bookshelf. ☇ Write the first sentence ☇ Write the last sentence on page fifty ☇ Write the second sentence on page one hundred ☇ Write the next to the last sentence on page one hundred fifty ☇ Write the final sentence of the book ☇ Let your friends guess what book it is. Obvious names have been left out, and I did twice the amount for shits and giggles (aka, I couldn't decide which four >.>;): ( Come my love, I'll tell you a tale... ) Current Mood: okayCurrent Music: Juanes--La Camisa Negra |

Te Busqué
Darnit Juanes, why are you awesome? And why must you hide your beautiful voice in other people's songs so I want them!? There's a Spanish version, too. That just cost me $2 XD. I thought about getting the album, but La Oreja de Van Gogh takes priority there, and I really am trying to cut back on purchases at the moment, especially as medical stuff costs more now. In other news, hooray weekend! And hooray writing~ I finally managed to write an opening to Galatea!story and tie it to where I'd originally started. Of course, that means I didn't really advance the plot today, but that's okay. I have no idea what I'm doing when they reach Sorodum anyway XD. Galatea!fic: 6098 / 10000 words. 61% done! Total: 6258 / 25000 words. 25% done! And I think I might just go to bed now. Because I am lame like that, and sleep sounds wonderful~ Current Mood: geekyCurrent Music: Nelly Furtado ft. Dear Supernatural Nice retcon, guys! (Erm, I realize thumbs-up Dean makes it seem like I'm being ironic, but I'm really not! Tonight's episode was coooooool! Sam n Dean better turn their not-very-considerable intellects towards the problem of thwarting their "destiny," though, and be quick about it.) I love this show! (Even though their theology makes no sense.) |

Writer's Block: Here's looking at you
Unlike pariahsdream I thought I would have a hard time answering this prompt: romance is not my favorite thing in any movie, and for years I told people that Tim Burton's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow was my favorite romantic movie in the world. (It was even true for a while! Jane Austen and age have mellowed me, so I can enjoy movies that are more explicitly romance-centric, so long as they don't star Meg Ryan or Tom Hanks. Possession was pretty good!) But then immediately popped into my head this sequence from The Village: (The good stuff starts around 2:30, but The moment is at about 3:23) It just kills me, I tear up every time I watch it. That right there, with no words and no explanations, symbolizes their relationship, their love, the reason they work. She trusts him to come for her, and he does. The violin and the slo-mo don't hurt, either. I don't like a lot of talking in my romance, or a lot of swooning and pining. Twilight is bearable as a book because one can read it fairly quickly; on film all those yearning glances, full of passion, take forever (and also look like the actors are suffering upset tummies). Most of the time, I'd rather the characters carry on with the business of what the film is really about (hunting down ancient mummies, smuggling stolen goods from planet to planet, seeking fantastic treasures by following clues left by ancestors of the Knights Templar, battling undead pirates, or VR agents of sentient machines, or killer robots from the future, or what-have-you) and leave the romance almost entirely unspoken. The kiss towards the end of National Treasure is pretty good too. And I think we can all agree that Pirates of the Caribbean 3 had the best wedding sequence in any movie, ever. Oh and then of course there's this: I could talk about the awesomeness of Labyrinth for ever and ever, but I won't. I can't count how many times I've watched the movie (several times a year since I was twelve?), but that moment around 2:02 where he steps forward and takes her into the dance still gives me shivers. Now there's a weird romance. He wants her, and courts her through cruelty; she's too young and naive to understand what he's about. The whole romantic subplot is not something I understood the first time I saw the movie (when I was, like, twelve), but now I can't get enough of it, and David Bowie's Jareth is still the form of dark sexy bad guy, for me. (Note that Sarah ultimately rejects him, however, turning her back on the fantasy world he offers and choosing to become an adult in reality. MAN, that movie is just all kinds of awesome!) Runners Up include: Belle's "I love you" at the end of the Disney Beauty and the Beast; Mal and Inara's conversation at the end of Serenity; and the final charge at the end of The Last Samurai. What do you mean that's not romantic? :D What about you guys? *iz curious* |

Font Help
Hey everybody, I don't suppose anyone can ID the fonts in this picture? I used them pre-computer crash, and now the client needs to know what they are. I have no idea! If you recognize either of them, please let me know! ETA: "Wonderland" font is Vintage. Still trying to figure out that crazy script for "Alice", though. I thought it was The King and Queen, but it isn't. ETA II: VICTORY! The other font is OLHO DE BOI, which has a teeny preview in Photoshop, which is why I couldn't figure it out. Whew! |

...and by the power of ham, we have come to the eleventh month. Hooray for ham! Ok, ham has nothing to do with this. Pudding does, though. Not ham pudding; that sounds unpleasant. But not as unpleasant as the unpleasantness that might unpleasantly occur should you skip out on this week's quiz of un-unpleasantness. Play it now! Before calamity strikes! Unless you paid Calamity to strike you, in which case, carry on. Go. Play. Take Quiz. |
